Creating business blogs is not a new concept. However, most businesses either do not know how to create and effective one or have a blog but do not use it to its full potential. For many small businesses blogging can be an extremely great tool in building your social media foot print, establish your brand, or position yourself in an area of expertise. The ultimate benefit of business blogging is the opportunity to communicate your expertise to a mass of people and provide a resource for customers.  In recent years the big buzz words have been "content is king". However, in todays blogging world "platform is queen". Creating this platform is to create a social media presence and increase traffic of online searches for your company. Content is the message, but platform provides visibility and engagement with the audience.
Should a business focus more on content of their blog or more on just getting their name out there?

  1. I honestly think that businesses need to do both. They really do need to get their name out there so that people actually know they exist, but they also need to have good content. If their content is boring or not done very well they probably won't keep the people they got by getting their name out there. I believe they have to do both to be truly successful.

  2. I agree with Alyssa. A business needs to have good content on blogs as well as get their name out there with blogs. Without the other, neither will help a business truly prosper.

  3. I agree with both my classmates. It is important to do both, if you have one without the other it will be "unbalanced" in the fact that they will lose customers belonging to the other.
